Why Champ exists
A new teacher every year. A new teacher aide, a new therapist, a school change. Each time, someone rereads the file, someone re-explains the child, and something gets lost. Parents become the only record, and that is a heavy thing to carry.
Champ is the shared memory. It belongs to the child and the people who look after them, not to whoever happens to be in the role this year.

Every parent of a child with extra needs knows the folder. The photocopies, the emails, the things you said at the last meeting that nobody wrote down. Champ takes that weight off you. What you know about your child lives in one place, in your words, and goes with them to every new classroom, therapist and school.
You hold the keys. You decide who joins, what they can see, and when they leave. Nothing about your child is shared with anyone you have not invited.
What is inside
Goals, documents, calendar, moments, messages, medication and the team. Record a meeting and Champ writes the notes; a parent checks them first. Teachers and therapists see every child they work with from one login. And it fits on a phone.
Updates come from home and from school and land in the same place, so the next person starts where the last one finished.

Who it is for
Parents and whānau stop being the only ones who remember. Teachers and SENCOs start the year already knowing the child, and leave a clean handover instead of a pile of notes. Therapists, RTLB and specialists keep every child they work with in one place, whatever school they attend, and know their report is read because it arrives with a summary someone can act on.
How it works
Someone sets up the profile. A parent, teacher or therapist, in about 2 minutes. The parents always hold the keys.
Gather the team. Anyone who helps, from one school or twenty organisations. Still one team around one child.
Keep going. Add goals, upload what you have, plan the next meeting. When someone leaves, their part of the story stays.
A child's profile is only visible to people who have been invited to it. Whoever manages the profile decides who joins, what they can see, and can remove anyone at any time.
Documents are stored privately and only opened by people on the team. Summaries are drafted by a computer and checked by a person before anyone else sees them.
Health information sits in its own section, switched off for everyone by default, and only turned on for the people who give medication or need to know about it.
Recorded meetings are announced out loud before they start. The audio is deleted the moment it is typed up, and a parent reads and approves the notes before anyone else sees them. Our privacy page spells all of this out in plain English.
Run by parents, for parents
Champ was built by parents in Wellington and is looked after in evenings and weekends. Storage, transcription and the rest cost about $10 a month for each child on it. If Champ has made a school year easier for a child you know, and you are in a position to chip in, a donation of any size keeps it going for the next family.
